Opportunities

We value clear communication, thoughtful execution, and practical solutions. Our work is collaborative and project-driven, with an emphasis on learning, adaptability, and accountability. You will work on:

  • Real-world projects with practical applications
  • Collaborative, cross-functional problem-solving
  • Design, development, testing, and iteration
  • Research, analysis, and applied experimentation
  • Continuous improvement and learning

We have experience supporting high-school co-op and experiential learning programs, including past collaboration with St. Robert Catholic High School through structured co-op placements.

Students from St. Robert can connect with us through their school, and students from other schools with co-op or experiential learning programs are welcome to reach out directly or via their program coordinators. We’re happy to review program requirements and see how we can support them. Reaching out through your school is often the fastest path.

Opportunities may include in-person engineering support (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics), science and math-focused work, basic simulations or programming, and supervised contributions on the business side such as marketing support or introductory business modeling.

We have experience working with students from the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo, and we welcome applications from students at other institutions. Students from University of Toronto Engineering Science programs are accepted regardless of specialization or degree focus.

We actively seek mechanical engineers and electrical & computer engineers, with a strong emphasis on hardware design, prototyping, and fabrication. Typical technical work may include mechanical design, electronics integration, test setup support, and hands-on build activities.

Students interested in the R&D behind the technology are encouraged to apply. Opportunities may include contributing to research, modeling, and simulation work, supporting design decisions, performance analysis, and experimental validation.

Software and computer science students are also welcome, particularly those interested in applied development. Technical software-focused opportunities may include:

  • Junior software development for interfaces and tools
  • Basic web development and IoT-related systems
  • Python programming, data integration, and simple data pipelines
  • UI / UX design for internal tools, GUIs, and operator interfaces

Roles are project-driven and practical, designed to give students direct exposure to real engineering systems, testing environments, and applied R&D work.

We work with engineers, scientists, and technical specialists across mechanical, electrical, computer, and systems engineering, with a strong focus on hardware-centric development, sensor-based systems, and hands-on integration and testing.

Our work spans acoustics and sensing, signal paths and detection systems, mechatronics and system-level integration, FPGA and embedded hardware, and experimental testing and validation. Team members often collaborate across disciplines, contributing to the design, build, measurement, and analysis of complex real-world systems.

While specific openings vary by project, we also welcome individuals who feel their expertise — whether in acoustics, signal processing, applied physics, simulation, software, or hardware — could meaningfully contribute to advancing our technology.

We collaborate with academic institutions, research groups, startups, and industry partners on applied sensing and detection challenges. Our work includes drone detection and defeat, aircraft and aerial object detection, and urban acoustic sensing, with technical approaches tailored to each project.

We actively participate in engineering design, prototyping, and fabrication, and are interested in partnerships that involve co-design, custom hardware development, and iterative build–test cycles. This includes early concept development through to functional prototypes and deployable systems.

We welcome partners interested in advancing sensing, acoustics, signal processing, or hardware systems in complex real-world environments. If you’re looking to collaborate on research, design, fabrication, or integrated development, we’re open to exploring how our capabilities can align.
